With the aim of bringing unusual experiences to the members in mind, Books en Beyond held a Sound Meditation session for the patrons. Sound Meditation is the practice of deepening meditation with the use of sound and music. For thousands of years, sound has been used in ancient cultures to ease anxiety and promote a sense of wellbeing.
The focus on this type of meditation is on the use of ancient Tibetan instruments, particularly gongs and crystal singing bowls.
An expert Sound Meditation specialist held the session. She made the participants lie down in shavasana (a relaxation pose), close their eyes, and focus on their breath as wave after wave of sound washed over them. With an hour of sound meditation, participants came closer to a supreme state of peacefulness.
The aura of the centre was in harmony with the calming ambience which enhanced the sublime experience manifold.
