hanakya, might have existed 2300 years back, but his ideology is relevant in fields such as bureaucracy, trade, defence, administration even today. The secret behind Chanakya’s longevity is its universal appeal. Bringing his ideology to stage are veteran actor Manoj Joshi and writer Mihir Bhuta. The duo has been staging the play, Chanakya, for almost three decades now. With 1,039 performances of Chanakya, Joshi has become synonymous with the scholar-strategist who dared to dream of an integrated India – the one who created a political storm in Magadh (now Bihar) with his will, wisdom and words. This historical hit which was first performed in 1990 in Gujarat, will focus on the life and vision of Chanakya – the royal advisor, teacher, philosopher, economist and master strategist.
In the world of theatre, films and television, Manoj Joshi needs no introduction. In 2018, he was bestowed with the Padma Shri for his outstanding contribution.
